On Wednesday, August 1st the Hildreth Institute presented to a group of Forest Foundation interns who are all working for non-profit organizations in the greater Boston area.
After the presentation, many of the interns came up and spoke about their own experiences with student loans: how loans had determined where they went to school, how college administrations had not been upfront about tuition increases and payment plans, and how student debt is truly a burden and crisis for American students.
We were amazed by the passion and intelligence that these interns exhibited and are very grateful to have met such an incredible group of young leaders. These are the students that we are fighting for. Non-profit careers should not be restricted because of burdensome loan repayments. We need a #ZeroDebt future, NOW.
